3rd Annual Hamaker Kingfish Cup

The three northeast Florida fishing clubs - Ancient City Game Fish Association, Jacksonville Offshore Sport Fishing Club and Nassau Sport Fishing Association will again compete for the coveted Hamaker Kingfish Cup in the 2009 AT&T Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament. The winning club will have bragging rights as the best Kingfishing club in northeast Florida until they defend their title the following year.

The registered captain/club member who weighs the heaviest kingfish during the AT&T GJKT General Tournament will win the perennial trophy for their club (for a year) and will also receive a complimentary General Tournament entry into the next year's event.
A representative from each club must submit the names of active club members who are registered captains in the AT&T GJKT General Tournament by the close of registration Wednesday, July22nd. Only captains whose names have been submitted by their designated club representative are eligible for the prize. Club members fishing on boats whose captain is not an active member of one of the clubs, will not be eligible to participate in the competition. There is no special entry fee for club members to compete other than the standard General Tournament entry fee.

This competition is named in honor of Charlie Hamaker, the 1990 GJKT Tournament Chairman and current Jacksonville Marine Charities Board Member. Charlie has been very instrumental in the success of the GJKT and also serves as the Official Historian for the Jacksonville Offshore Sport Fishing Club.
